Terms of Use

TimeBox is provided by the developer shown in the applicable app-store listing (“we” or “us”). Contact: crazyandcoder@gmail.com. These Terms cover mobile, desktop, and related versions. Mandatory app-store terms also apply and control where they conflict.

TimeBox provides local journaling, multimedia capture, timeline and rediscovery, search, optional location and weather, direct local-network sync, backup, restore, export, and optional PRO features. No account is required. Journal content is stored by default only on your devices or in file locations you choose. Some features require permission, internet access, compatible devices, or a third-party service.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use TimeBox on compatible devices you own or control. The App is licensed, not sold. Family Sharing permitted by an app store is not restricted by this clause.

You retain your rights in content you create or import. You are responsible for having the right to store, process, export, and share it; for its legality and accuracy; and for maintaining backups. Do not use TimeBox to violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights, or to store or distribute unlawful or harmful content. We receive no license to use private content for advertising, model training, or public display.

The local-first design makes you responsible for device security, storage, backup files, and passwords. Sync, import, merge, replace, and restore may change archives on multiple devices; verify scope and keep a usable backup first. Device failure or loss, system cleanup, a forgotten password, or mistaken action can make data unrecoverable. We cannot remotely recover data or backup passwords that were never sent to us.

Camera, microphone, photos/media, files, location, local network, and biometric capabilities are used only for features you enable. Weather, maps, geocoding, in-app purchases, and system sharing are supplied by third parties or the operating system and may be governed by their terms and privacy policies. We do not fully control their availability or practices.

TimeBox PRO is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. For Apple App Store or Google Play builds, price, tax, payment, Family Sharing eligibility, restoration, and refunds are governed by the store and your account. Direct-distribution builds may use a signed license bound to a random device code; price, payment method, eligible device count, and refund terms are those shown at direct purchase or on the receipt. A purchase unlocks the PRO entitlement described at purchase. Statutory, store, and point-of-sale consumer rights are not limited by these Terms.

You may not bypass payment or security controls; unlawfully copy, rent, sell, sublicense, or commercially distribute the App; reverse engineer or seek source code except where applicable law permits; interfere with devices or services on a network; introduce malicious code; or use the App unlawfully, fraudulently, or to infringe rights.

We may update or modify features for security, compatibility, fixes, and product development, and may discontinue a feature. We use reasonable efforts to maintain TimeBox but do not promise indefinite compatibility with every old device, operating system, or third-party service. Viewing, backup, restore, and open-format export will remain available in line with the product promise, subject to device failure, platform limits, and events beyond reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TimeBox is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties not expressly stated. Maps, addresses, weather, search results, and generated retrospectives are informational only and are not medical, legal, financial, safety, or emergency advice. Nothing excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, or for data loss caused by missing backups, device failure, forgotten passwords, third-party services, or misuse. Liability that cannot be excluded remains unaffected; where it may be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid for TimeBox or the minimum permitted by law.

You may stop using and uninstall TimeBox at any time. We may terminate the license for a material breach or legal requirement, but we cannot and will not remotely delete your local archive. These Terms are governed by the law where the provider is established without depriving you of mandatory consumer protection where you live. Contact us first to seek an informal resolution; you may still use a court or consumer body with lawful jurisdiction.

If you obtain the App from Apple App Store and we have not separately submitted a custom license in App Store Connect, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement governs the software license; these website Terms do not replace that standard agreement. If you obtain the App from Google Play, your use is also subject to Google Play Terms of Service. Mandatory platform rules, refund policies, and statutory rights control.

We may revise these Terms for product, legal, or operational changes and will show the new revision date. Material adverse changes will be communicated reasonably; continued use after effectiveness means acceptance unless law requires otherwise.
